JPG to PNG

Convert JPG photos to PNG in your browser, one or many at once. PNG is lossless, so the image won't lose any more detail when you edit and save it again. Your images never leave your device.

See each file's size before and after, then save them one by one or as a .zip.

Why convert JPG to PNG?

  • Edit without more loss: each time a JPG is saved it loses a little detail; PNG doesn't.
  • Uploads that need PNG: some sites, editors, and design tools ask for PNG.
  • Exact pixels: PNG keeps every pixel as it is, which suits screenshots and graphics.

Expect a bigger file: PNG stores every pixel instead of approximating them.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting to PNG improve the quality?

No. Detail the JPG already lost can't be brought back. PNG only stops further loss from now on.

Why is the PNG so much bigger?

PNG is lossless, so it keeps every pixel exactly. Photos as PNG are often several times larger than as JPG. To make it smaller, reduce the size under Output.

Will the background become transparent?

No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG looks exactly the same. Removing a background is a separate step in an image editor.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser decodes and converts the images itself. Nothing is sent to a server.
